For those of you who know, I am a single parent this week. Adam is in New York, and he just barely missed the bomb that went off in Times Square. You can all erase the images of a chic James Bond rolling out of the way of a huge explosion going off in the background, dusting off his tuxedo... it wasn't that close... but he was in Times Square the night before it went off, still pretty cool right?
He said that he and his friend went to check out the damage the next morning, you know, to try and put the pieces together, Inspector Clouseau-style (cue Pink Panther theme song).
Well, anyway, I am sitting watching "Celebrity Apprentice" in our house while the hubby is at an AMAZING hotel in the Big Apple. Oh well, I could eat an apple right now ;)... Well, here's a shout out to him if he reads this blog: " I MISS YOU!!!"
I know this doesn't sound that romantic, but honestly I can't think of a better compliment, than to say that after 3 1/2 years of marriage, I am still not bored of Adam. Far from it. Every day he fills me with laughter, interesting thinigs to think about, and love. What more could a girl ask for? Anyway, I am going to be done with this post before it turns to mushy. I love you, Adam, you are my life.

About Adam... (tag from Lauren)
What is his name? Adam Spencer Heder (just as he says it on his Voice Mail- haha- just in case you confused his phone number with ANOTHER Adam Heder's phone number)
How long have you been married? 4 years next June (yes, my post prego brain is to lazy to work out the months.)
Who long did you date? 6 months dating and 6 months engaged
How old is he? 25
Who eats more sweets? ME- hands down.
Who said I love you first? Me. He was mad that I said it first, he wants everything to be perfect, but I couldn't help it, it just came out.
Who is taller? Adam
Who can sing better? Well, I can read music, so I can sing all the parts, but Adam can carry a pretty mean melody, especially on a John Denver song.
Who is smarter? Adam.
Who does the laundry? We both do the laundry, its folding it that is the hard part. (ditto that Lauren)
Who pays the bills? It was me until I had a baby- now I'm lucky if I even check the mail to get the bills. lol.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Is that the right side when you're looking at the bed, or laying in the bed? If it's looking at it, then it's me; if it's laying in it, then it's him.
Who mows the lawn? HOA- 'nuff said. But Adam loves yardwork (YEAH!) He will even do yard work for our parents. . . I am dreaming of big beautiful flower beds in our dream house. . .
Who cooks dinner? I always cook. Off his mission Adam wanted to make a TOngan Pancake, which is: ramen noodles soaked in egg, fried up and put inbetween two pieces of bread with cheese, mayo and strawberry jam. THat's when I confiscated his apron and tongs.
Who drives? He does because he needs me to backseat drive. (I love this answer and I'm steealing it from Lauren)
Who is more stubborn? Oh this is the beauty of our marriage!! I don't think you could FIND two more stubborn people in this world!! LoL. Since we had Madeline, we are working on not being so stubborn- but if I had to choose someone, I think I would be the winner!
Who kissed who first? He did! It was on our romantic date at Payson lakes.
Who asked who out first? He did. I had been home from my mission 4 days, when I went up to BYU to visit a friend. I ran into Adam on campus- at that moment he was looking my name up on the BYU directory. We started talking and 20 minutes later he asked me out. I was so nervous ( he was from my mission for Pete's sake) so I brought along 5 friends and we all went out to dinner together. Adam was kind of confused... but he perservered, and we ended up talking all through dinner. Then he asked me out again after dinner to go to the Nickelcade and go see a movie. I said ok, and we ended up going out by ourselves. It was history after that.
Who proposed? Adam did. After a week of torture, wondering when I was going to be proposed to, he finally did it, minutes before I left for home. (Yes, he got cold feet).
Who has more siblings? same. 6.

YOGA
I love Yoga. I just started taking a class at BYU at 6 a.m. which means that I have to get up by 5:30 a.m. to feed the babe, put her back down, get dressed, brush my teeth and out the door and to the school by 6. I have to admit I am very proud of myself. Not only has it helped me to start exercising with more regularity, mainly it has helped me to get up and out of the house so that I can start the day off right (and not sleep in until 9:30-- it was good while it lasted).
I have come a far way from my undergrad days when I thought taking a ballet class at 7 a.m. was a good idea. I remember I used to sleep in my leotard and tights so that I would wake up at 6:50, throw on a coat and shoes, and run across campus to the RB. I was usually late. Big suprise. That and the teacher's ever scodling to "square my hips" didn't leave me with the best impression of ballet. What does "square your hips" mean anyway??? My hips aren't square. Thanks to lots of choco-chips, my hips are quite round. By the end of the semester, I learned that to square your hips, you were supposed to pretend you were squeezing a grape inbetween your buttocks. Gross! And in short- I ended up not pursuing a dancing career.
The only unfortunate thing about the 6 a.m. Yoga class is that I really don't like the teacher. I don't know if she's ever taught yoga before, but it sure doesn't seem like it. So I left the first class with a terrible crick in my neck (which SHOULD NOT happen in yoga) which stayed all day and into the next day; and right as we were starting Shavasanah (sp?) (the "nap" where you're supposed to be at the most relaxed stage) some student janitor flipped on the vacuum cleaner right outside the door and vacuumed for almost the entier time!! I guess that's what you get for taking an exercise class at BYU.
Oh well, as a true Yogi would say "I am going to 'embrace the change'" and just be thankful for the opportunity to do some yoga in the morning and start my day off right. Here's to new years resolutions!

She did it!!
She did it!! We have been working so hard this week on helping Madeline go down to bed and be able to soothe herself, instead of me spending countless hours rocking her to bed, and have tried to get her on a routine (not a schedule, but a little more of a routine). She has steadily gotten better (at first we tried the cry it out method, and I just felt like that was a little harsh, so we eased up just a bit and went in and comforted her a little more often) and last night- she slept through the night!!! I can't believe it! We weren't even trying to get her to sleep through the night yet! She just did it on her own, and everytime she woke up she just soothed herself back to sleep!!! I wish I could have enjoyed it a bit more, but I got up and checked on her like a dozen times to make sure she was still alive, because honestly last night I got up about 4 times to feed her, and then tonight- voila!! Finally at 6 a.m. I woke her up because I HaD to feed her (you breastfeeding moms out there will understand)! And then she did it again- she soothed herself back to sleep!! We have such a genius baby!! I am so happy! Yeah! sleep again! How wonderful!
